The NOCCCD Great Teachers Seminar, inspired by California Great Teachers, is rooted in the belief that the best teaching ideas and strategies come from within our own ranks. Led by peers who practice teaching daily, this seminar offers a chance to discuss our daily successes and challenges. It provides an inviting format for instructors to receive feedback, share ideas, and exchange best practices.

The California Community Colleges Classified Senate (4CS) and the Community College League of California (CCLC) co-sponsor the Classified Leadership Institute, which focuses on the positive aspects of classified involvement in the shared governance process. The Association of California Community College Administrators offers several career-building, highly regarded professional development programs and events throughout the year.

California Community College Council for Professional Development (4CPD) provides training resources and networking opportunities for staff development professionals in California community colleges.

Co-sponsored by the Community College League of California (CCLC) and the Faculty Association of California Community Colleges (FACCC), this five-day seminar in August is devoted to developing strategies for improving teaching and education in community colleges. Traditionally, the District sponsors the registration fee for one faculty member from each of our campuses.

Paraeducators provide instructional support. Topics at this annual conference vary, but focus on improving student behavior and performance. Topics range from communication skills to coaching and mentoring, to dealing with threats on campus.

The DCI is a multi-day institute for new and experienced academic leaders. Participants explore ways to lead and manage academic departments, and discuss how to effectively transition from a faculty member to a department chair.

NISOD is dedicated to the professional development of faculty, staff and administrators to ensure student success through teaching and learning practices. NISOD offers workshops, conferences and webinars tailored to community and technical colleges.

Presented by the RP Group and the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges, this three-day conference provides opportunities for faculty, deans, program directors, student services staff, researchers, and planners to brainstorm ways to strengthen institutional effectiveness and student learning.

The Thomas Lakin Institute for Mentored Leadership is a national professional development activity sponsored by the Presidents' Round Table of African-American CEOs of Community Colleges. The Institute provides a personal and professional development experience for selected individuals who have demonstrated a potential for expanded leadership roles in community colleges.
