About the District

The North Orange County Community College District (NOCCCD) is one of the premiere community college districts in California, providing quality education to more than 58,000 students. The District includes two award-winning credit colleges – Cypress College and Fullerton College – as well as one of the largest noncredit institutions in the state – North Orange Continuing Education. 

Led by Chancellor Byron D. Clift Breland, NOCCCD employs 2,800 people and adds more than $2 billion in income to the Orange County economy. Between the three campuses, NOCCCD offers 412 certificate programs and 230 degrees, making it the largest institution for higher education in North Orange County.

We create and nurture inclusive, equitable learning environments to empower students to reach their full potential while providing well-trained graduates needed by local employers.

NOCCCD’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Anti-Racism & Accessibility (DEIAA) means that we strive to eliminate barriers to equity and act deliberately to create a safe and inclusive environment where individual and group differences are valued and leveraged for our growth and understanding as an educational community. DEIAA is a deeply held value by the District, and it is also our approach to teaching and learning that aims to improve the way we prepare students for a diverse and global environment. 
 
Both Cypress College and Fullerton College are designated as Hispanic-Serving Institutions with 51% and 55% Hispanic enrollment, respectively. Fullerton College is designated as an Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution (AANAPISI) with 12% Asian Pacific Islander enrollment. While not eligible for federal funding, North Orange Continuing Education is one of the most diverse institutions in California with 24% Hispanic and 16% Asian student enrollment.

Two of the state’s premiere colleges and one of the state’s most extensive continuing education programs combine to provide our students with programming that leads to the acquisition of associate degrees, vocational certificates, and transfer opportunities. Life-long learning is also possible in continuing education programs that range from high school completion and basic skills mastery through an array of vocational training and self-development courses.
