Professional Development Resources

Our twice-a-year, one-day orientation is a great way to welcome new full-time staff and faculty to the District and their campuses. You’ll get to meet representatives from each District department, who will introduce themselves and share all the ways they’re here to support you. Plus, you’ll have the chance to connect with representatives from the California School Employees Association, United Faculty unions, and the District Management Association, who will meet with their groups to go over the services and resources they offer.

The Hire Me workshops are designed for individuals seeking full-time faculty positions with the NOCCCD, and take place over two days in the winter.

Part 1: Perspectives on Hiring: Application, Letter of Interest and Resume Writing
Part 2: Perspectives on Hiring: The Interview

The purpose of these workshops are to review the hiring process and procedures of the NOCCCD, and assist applicants in presenting their qualifications and themselves in the most professional manner. Participation in the workshop does not guarantee an interview with a screening committee or employment.

NOCCCD offers professional growth and development (PG&D) stipend increments to managers, classified and confidential employees who wish to enroll in work-related courses or degree programs in order to strengthen their roles as productive members of the District and the community.

Employees can earn up to five increments (one per fiscal year), for every nine units of approved coursework. Six of these units must be in related courses, as outlined in the various union contracts.

To apply, complete the PG&D Request for Course Approval form prior to the start of your course(s), located in myGateway, under the District Forms tab, HR folder.  Submit your completed form to the Human Resources Department located on the 9th floor of the Anaheim Campus, 1830 W. Romneya Drive, Anaheim CA 92801.

At the conclusion of your course(s), submit verification of your completed course work with an official transcript or the instructor’s signature, prior to June 30 of each year to the Human Resources Department.

Sabbaticals provide faculty members an opportunity to pursue additional research, studies, or other forms of enrichment. Full-time faculty interested in learning more about these options should review the District's policies on sabbaticals.
