Employee & Labor Relations
The purpose of the Employee & Labor Relations Department at NOCCCD is to promote a high-quality workforce and collaborative relationships between employees, management, and employee bargaining units.
The Employee and Labor Relations Department serves as a strategic partner while serving as an internal consultant, advisor, and facilitator in providing information, training, and recommendations related to managing employee performance, conduct issues, contract interpretations, investigation, complaint resolution, and negotiates sustainable bargaining unit agreements.
Key responsibilities:
- Employee Relations Consultation and Resolution
- Collective Bargaining negotiations with Adjunct Faculty United, California Schools Employees Association (167), and United Faculty.
- Training in a Variety of Employee and Labor Relations Topics for Managers and Employees
- Labor Contracts Administration
- Administration Compliance of Federal/State laws, and Board Policies/Regulations Grievances/Unfair Labor Practices/Medical
- Accommodations.
- Civil Litigation/Worker’s Compensation Claims
- Background Check Compliance
