NOCCCD BFSA

Black Faculty & Staff Association is open to every employee in the District regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation. If you have an interest in promoting diversity and equity on your campus or within the District, our association offers you and excellent opportunity to get involved and make a difference.

Annual dues of $100 are collected through payroll deductions (10-month period, September - June) at just $10 per month. Part of the dues will be used to provide a total of 3 BFSA Scholarships annually, with one scholarship being awarded to a student at Fullerton College, Cypress College, and North Orange Continuing Education.

Scholarship Requirements
  • A resident of the state of California
  • A member of an underrepresented student population
  • All majors eligible
  • Letter of recommendation from Cypress, Fullerton, or NOCE faculty/staff member
For Cypress & Fullerton College Students:
  • 12 or more units completed at Cypress or Fullerton College AND enrolled at least part-time for Spring 2025
  • 2.5 GPA or higher. Must submit official or unofficial transcript.
  • Must have a goal of transferring to a four-year college or university and/or completion of a Certificat (CTE) program of study
For NOCE Students
  • Currently enrolled in an NOCE program; attended and completed a previous semester in 2024.
  • 72 or more hours completed at NOCE. Must submit official or unofficial transcript.
  • Must have a goal of transferring to a college or university; completion of a Certificat of Completion or a Certificate of Competency; and/or be gainfully employed.

Scholarship - "Unity, Connectivity, Empowerment... thru Education"

This scholarship is established to help underrepresented students continue their education. BFSA believes in higher education, transferring to the universities, and Career Technical Education.

Scholarship Requirements:

  • A resident of the state of California
  • A member of an underrepresented student population
  • All majors are eligible
  • 12 or more units completed at Cypress, Fullerton, or NOCE
  • Enrolled at least part time in the upcoming academic semester
  • 2.5 GPA or higher -- Submit official or unofficial transcript
  • Must have a goal of transferring to a four-year college or university and/or completion of Certificate (CTE) program of study
  • Letter of recommendation from a Cypress, Fullerton or NOCE faculty/staff member
