Results of the 2024 NOCCCD Board of Trustees Election

The Orange County Registrar of Voters has reported the results of the 2024 North Orange County Community College District (NOCCCD) Board of Trustees election.

Anaheim, Calif. – The Orange County Registrar of Voters has reported the results of the 2024 North Orange County Community College District (NOCCCD) Board of Trustees election. 
Incumbent trustees Ed Lopez, Ryan Bent, and Evangelina Rosales will retain their positions on the Board. Mr. Lopez was first elected as the trustee to NOCCCD’s Area 2 in 2016. Mr. Bent has similarly served NOCCCD as a Board trustee since 2016 when he was first elected to Area 7. Mrs. Evangelina Rosales, trustee for Area 4 and currently Board of Trustees President, was appointed in lieu of election. They will all serve four-year terms.
Area 5 will be served by a new trustee, Mark Lopez. Mr. Mark Lopez has previously served as a board member of Anaheim Elementary School District and is a high school teacher. He is taking the place of Trustee Jaqueline Rodarte who chose not to run for re-election. Ms. Rodarte is a high school history professor who has faithfully served NOCCCD since 2016.
“As we celebrate the outcomes of this election, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to our continuing trustees, Ed Lopez, Ryan Bent and Evangelina Rosales, as well as our newly elected trustee, Mark Lopez,” said Dr. Byron D. Clift Breland, NOCCCD Chancellor. “I also want to take a moment to express our deep gratitude to Jaqueline Rodarte for her invaluable service over the years. Together, we look forward to continuing our mission of providing an exemplary education and expanding opportunities for all members of our diverse community.”
NOCCCD will hold two upcoming receptions for these trustees. At the November 26, 2024 regularly-scheduled Board of Trustees meeting, a farewell reception will be held for Ms. Rodarte to thank her for her service. The swearing-in ceremony for Mr. Mark Lopez will occur during the December 17, 2024 meeting of the Board where there will also be a reception honoring all the winners of this election. All Board Meetings are open to the public, community, faculty, staff, and students. The Board meetings are currently held at Anaheim Union High School District at 501 N. Crescent Way, Anaheim, CA, 92801.
