In 2018, NOCCCD contracted with Emsi to assess the economic impact made by our District on our local community and industries, as well as the benefits generated by its institutions. The resulting report, Analysis of the Economic Impact and Return on Investment of Education: The Economic Value of the North Orange County Community College District, was funded through State workforce development dollars in conjunction with the other area districts.
Key NOCCCD findings include:
We add $1.6 billion in total income to Orange County
We support 20,076 jobs
Students get a 17.3% rate of return on their investment
Taxpayers get a 8.8% rate of return on their investment
The report concludes that the value of NOCCCD influences both the lives of students and the county economy. Cypress College, Fullerton College, and NOCE serve a range of industries in Orange County, support local businesses, and benefit society as a whole in California through an expanded economy and improved quality of life. The benefits created by NOCCCD even extend to the state and local government through increased tax revenues and public sector savings.
Information from the study will be shared this fall and spring to our campus constituents, as well as externally at community meetings and events by the Chancellor, Presidents, Provost, and Campus Communications Departments.
