Chancellor's Report – Dr. Cheryl A. Marshall
BLACK LIVES MATTER TASK FORCES – Dr. Marshall thanked the campus Black Lives Matter Task Forces for their work, reports, and recommendations, as well as noted that the District-wide report will reflect the campus reports with shared values and action statements… COVID-19 UPDATE – The Chancellor announced that the District does not have any new cases of COVID-19 despite the return of some face-to-face classes this fall. Dr. Marshall commended faculty and staff for following the District's COVID-19 guidelines and protocols.

North Orange Continuing Education – Valentina Purtell, President
FOOD DISTRIBUTION – Ms. Purtell shared that NOCE is excited to be partnering with Cypress College and Pathways of Hope to run food distribution to NOCE students at Cypress College, as well as commented that NOCE plans to replicate the service at the Anaheim Campus by the end of September or early October 2020… STRATEGIC ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT – The President reported on an enrollment management infographic from her written report to the Board of Trustees, commenting on both the NOCE student and faculty experience over the past six months of remote learning due to COVID-19.
Cypress College – Dr. JoAnna Schilling, President
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT – Dr. Schilling thanked the campus Maintenance & Operations team for continuing to maintain the Cypress College grounds… OUTDOOR STUDY SPACE – The President announced that, on September 14, 2020, the campus is planning to open its outdoor study space in Gateway Plaza for student use Monday through Friday… VOTING CENTER – Dr. Schilling shared that the Cypress College Theatre Lobby will be serving as a voting center for in-person voting and ballot drop-off during the November 2020 election… FOOD DISTRIBUTION – The President announced that the college held its first drive-thru food distribution, serving 220 students, in collaboration with NOCE and Pathways of Hope, and will continue to distribute food to students every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon.
Fullerton College – Dr. Greg Schulz, President
RECOGNITION – Dr. Schulz acknowledged excellence in classified staff working on and off campus throughout the pandemic… OCTA BUS PROGRAM – The President highlighted an infographic from his written report to the Board of Trustees, commenting that in the first six months since its launch, the OCTA Bus Program has recorded over 111,000 bus boardings by Fullerton College students.

LEADERSHIP – District Management Association President Lisa McPheron shared that DMA changed its Vice President position to President Elect in order to strengthen leadership representation and allow for a full year of preparation prior to the President Elect's transition into presidency. President Elect Ty Volcy will be alternating attendance at Board of Trustees meetings with President Lisa McPheron.
NOCE ACTIVITIES – NOCE Academic Senate President Jennifer Oo congratulated the Pharmacy Technician Program on achieving its midterm cycle accreditation review without limitation, shared Professional Development Committee plans that support NOCE's current work environment and culture, and thanked Cypress College for including NOCE in its campus food distribution to students.
CYPRESS COLLEGE ACADEMIC SENATE UPDATES – Cypress College Academic Senate President Craig Goralski reported that, at the August 27, 2020 Academic Senate meeting, the Senate received recommendations from the Black Lives Matter task force and approved the creation of an ad hoc committee to respond to the recommendations, as well as received a Title V Grant update and Senate 101 presentation.
FULLERTON COLLEGE ACADEMIC SENATE UPDATES – Fullerton College Academic Senate President Kim Orlijan commented on recent Academic Senate meetings, sharing that the Senate discussed grading policies; adopted three goals for the 2020-21 academic year including the creation of an anti-racist task force, response to the Task Force action, and revision of the Senate bylaws and constitution; created anti-racism and equity task forces; and adopted a resolution in support of anti-racism.
UF UPDATES – United Faculty President Christie Diep shared that UF is moving forward with recommendations from the Black Lives Matter Oversight Task Force, as well as reported on faculty salary and benefits.
CSEA UPDATES – CSEA President Dawnmarie Neate thanked Dr. Greg Schulz and Dr. JoAnna Schilling for their kind words to classified staff, as well as commented on CSEA negotiations with the District, ratification of two new classified job descriptions for Cypress College, and reopening of the Fullerton College Child Development Education School.
ADFAC UNITED ACTIVITIES – Adjunct Faculty United President Lauren Mata reported on AdFac United activities including a "Celebration of the Labor Movement" webinar, AdFac orientation with training on Title IX, "Know Your Rights" webinar, and bi-annual membership meeting to review AdFac United's constitution and bylaws, strategic calendar, and annual budget.

COMMENTS – Board Vice President Barbara Dunsheath commented on a LA Times article on the value of classified staff written by CSEA Association President Ben Valdepena; an ACCT diversity, equity, and inclusion checklist for community college boards of trustees; and the upcoming Cypress College Foundation Scholarship Ceremony.
CYPRESS COLLEGE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP CEREMONY – Board Member Jacqueline Rodarte confirmed that the Cypress College Foundation Scholarship Ceremony is on September 10, 2020.
UF COMMENTS – Board President Ryan Bent requested more information on the budget of United Faculty.
Finance & Facilities
PURCHASE ORDERS & CHECKS – The Board ratified purchase orders and checks. (The Purchase Orders and Checks are available for review in the District's Business Office.)
QUARTERLY INVESTMENT REPORT & IRREVOCABLE RETIREE BENEFITS TRUST REPORT – The Board received the Quarterly Investment Report and the Irrevocable Retiree Benefits Trust Report for the quarter ended June 30, 2020.
CA MULTIPLE AWARD SCHEDULE CONTRACT – The Board approved the use of California Multiple Award Schedule Contract No. 3-18-70-1613C for audio-visual and computer related equipment purchased through Howard Industries, Inc.
LIABILITY – The Board determined that the District is willing to accept the liability imposed by the Regents of the University of California's proposed addendum. The Board authorized the request to execute the Addendum to the Health Sciences Program Agreement for the COVID-19 Acknowledgment for On-Site Students for the fall semester only.
RETIREMENT – The Board approved the retirement of District Services Human Resources Specialist Vickie McPherson, effective March 25, 2021.
ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES – The Board received as information the revised Administrative Procedures in Chapters 6 and 7.
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS – The Board discussed any potential future agenda items.
