FULLERTON COLLEGE FOOTBALL – Fullerton College Athletic Director Scott Giles announced that Fullerton College defeated Santa Ana College in the 97th "Key to the County" football game, shared that 49 players from last year's team transferred to four-year institutions and received scholarship awards totaling over $1 million, and thanked the Board of Trustees and District for their continued support of the college's athletic programs.

EMPLOYEES OF THE YEAR – Certificates of Commendation were presented to the 2018-19 Employees of the Year. Those recognized included: Anne-Marie Beck, Juan Garcia, and Kathy Wada from Cypress College; Aline Gregorio, Nicol Tushla, and Dani Wilson from Fullerton College; and Amabel Arredondo, Kristina De La Cerda, Denise Mora, and Stacy Webb from NOCE… ONE-TIME FUNDS – Chancellor Marshall reported that initial discussions on the use of one-time funds took place at the District Consultation Council meeting on September 23, 2019.

North Orange Continuing Education – Valentina Purtell, Provost
NATIONAL EVALUATION OF ADULT EDUCATION – Ms. Purtell shared that the California Department of Education recommended NOCE to the US Department of Education as a model adult education agency to participate in the national evaluation of adult education… NALEO NATIONAL POLICY INSTITUTE ON HIGHER EDUCATION GOVERNANCE – The Provost announced that Interim Director, Institutional Research and Planning, Dulce Delgadillo has been invited to co-present at the National Association of Latino Elected Officials National Policy Institute on Higher Education Governance in Chicago, Illinois… ANAHEIM CAMPUS FOOD BANK – Ms. Purtell thanked Dean, Instruction and Student Services, Martha Gutierrez for her efforts in the opening of the Anaheim Campus Food Bank.
Cypress College – Dr. JoAnna Schilling, President
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT – Dr. Schilling recognized Kathy Wada for receiving the Charger of the Year Award and congratulated Christie Diep as the new United Faculty President… CYPRESS COLLEGE NIGHT AT ANGEL STADIUM – The President thanked faculty member Bryan Seiling for purchasing 128 tickets for students to attend the Cypress College Night at Angel Stadium on September 26, 2019.

EDUCATIONAL & FACILITIES MASTER PLAN – Dr. Schulz reported that the District-wide Educational and Facilities Master Plan consultants attended recent Academic Senate and President's Advisory Council meetings… STUDENT BUSS PASS PROGRAM KICKOFF – The President thanked members of the Board for attending the Fullerton College Student Bus Pass Program Kickoff on September 12, 2019.

DMA UPDATES – District Management Association President Lisa Gaetje announced that the Fall Business Meeting will be on October 18, 2019, and that DMA has ad hoc committees in place to address priorities.
UPDATES – Cypress College Academic Senate President Craig Goralski reported that District-wide Educational and Facilities Master Plan consultants and the Charger Assessment Team attended the Academic Senate meeting on September 12, 2019; recognized the work of Jason De Leon on the Hostile Terrain exhibition; and welcomed United Faculty President Christie Deip to the Board resource table.
FULLERTON COLLEGE ACADEMIC SENATE UPDATES – Fullerton College Academic Senate President Kim Orlijan commented on Senate goals, as well as a taskforce developed to make recommendations on the spending of AB 19 funds.
UF UPDATES – United Faculty President Christie Diep thanked her colleagues for attending the Board meeting to support her, and noted that she plans to appoint a new negotiating team and looks forward to resuming negotiations with the District.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT – CSEA President Dawnmarie Neate reported that CSEA is working with District Professional Development to develop courses specifically for classified employees that will lead to certification in various areas.
UPDATES – Adjunct Faculty United President Kent Stevenson congratulated Christie Diep on becoming United Faculty President, and commented on a recent meeting with the District negotiating team.

CAMPUS EVENTS – Board Member Molly McClanahan shared that she attended the Fullerton College Student Bus Pass Program Kickoff and Cypress College Hostile Terrain 94 Exhibit Opening and Reception.
FUJI FILM CORPORATION – Board Member Ryan Bent announced that he is now employed by Fuji Film Corporation.
PATHWAYS OF HOPE – Board Member Jacqueline Rodarte commented that she attended the Pathways of Hope fundraiser on September 22, 2019.
MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR – Board Member Jeffrey Brown called attention to the new mental health clinical counselor job description.
Finance & Facilities
ENERGY SERVICE CONTRACT – After the public hearing on the findings prerequisite to award an energy service contract, the Board adopted Resolution No. 19/20-06 to make the required findings under Government Code section 4217, and authorized the Anaheim Campus LED Lighting Retrofit project in the amount not to exceed $200,000. (The Resolution is available for review in the District's Business Office.)
CYPRESS COLLEGE PRESIDENT'S EVENING AT THE THEATER – The Board authorized the request for the Cypress College Foundation to host the President's Evening at the Theater event on the college campus on October 11, 2019 and to allow them to serve alcoholic beverages to attendees.
COMMUNITY SCHOOLS MODEL – The Board authorized the request to approve the Memorandum of Understanding with Anaheim Union High School District for the Community Schools Model regional integration at a cost not to exceed $255,439.45.
CAEP 2019-20 REGIONAL BUDGET – The Board authorized the request to approve the Memorandum of Understanding with North Orange County Regional Occupational Program for their California Adult Education Program 2019-20 Regional Budget of $664,815.00.
CYPRESS COLLEGE SEM & VRC/SAC PROJECTS CONSTRUCTION – The Board authorized the request to enter into an agreement with Allana Buick & Bers to provide special inspections for waterproofing and air barrier services during the construction phase of the new Cypress College SEM and VRC/SAC projects. The term of the agreement will be September 25, 2019 through June 30, 2021. Oncall services will be based on a combination of lump sum and time and materials, with an estimated cost of $220,600.
OUT-OF-COUNTRY TRAVEL – The Board authorized the request to pre-approve out-of-country travel to Toronto, Canada for Randy Martinez and Angela deDios from October 9-12, 2019.
ELLUCIAN COMPANY, LP – The Board authorized the request to enter into a new contract with Ellucian Company, LP starting on September 25, 2019 through June 30, 2024, with a first year cost not to exceed $513,890, plus a 3% increase each year thereafter.
RETIREMENTS – The Board approved the retirements of Stuart Rosenberg, Cypress College English Instructor, effective May 24, 2020; and Melissa Corrigan, Fullerton College Textbook Buyer, effective November 1, 2019.
PROMOTIONS – The Board approved the promotions of Chynna Barnett to Fullerton College Administrative Assistant II, effective September 25, 2019; Aaron Mezzano to Fullerton College Administrative Assistant II, effective September 25, 2019; and Caroline Sagal to Fullerton College Administrative Assistant II, effective September 25, 2019.
