The North Orange County Community College District (NOCCCD) Public Affairs Office is making it easier for people to request public records with a new online management system hosted by GovQA.
Effective July 2024, NOCCCD has officially transitioned to GovQA as the platform for all Public Records Act and Freedom of Information Act requests. This includes requests for records from all District entities including the NOCCCD Board of Trustees, District Services, Cypress College, Fullerton College, and North Orange Continuing Education (NOCE).
The automated system will help the District and campuses improve efficiency, increase transparency, and achieve greater consistency in responding to requests for public records.
The online portal may be accessed from the NOCCCD website by going to www.nocccd.edu or the direct link.
The GovQA portal allows requesters to create a personal account where they can submit records requests, track the progress of responses, and download electronic copies of the records requested. It also includes frequently asked questions and trending topic pages.
"The District and the campuses receive a large amount of public records requests each year from both internal and external constituencies," said Kai Stearns, District Director of Public & Governmental Affairs. "This new system will enable us to keep personal information safe while ensuring that the public and employees can obtain the records they are entitled to."
