Research and Institutional Effectiveness
The Educational Services and Technology Department is responsible for District-wide and District-level research. The Department works collaboratively with the Colleges and SCE to:
- Ensure compliance with state and federal reports including Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), Vocation and Technical Education Act (VTEA), Scorecard, and Institutional Effectiveness Partnership Initiative (IEPI)
- Communicate requirements and timeline for reports to the Colleges/SCE
- Gather information from Colleges/SCE and prepare reports where necessary
- Respond to scheduled and ad hoc research report requests from the Chancellor and the Board
- Ensure the Chancellor and the Board receive needed data and information for decision-making
- Develop and administer District-wide surveys including the District-wide Services and Communications Satisfaction Survey
- Determine standard definition and parameters for conducting like research throughout the District
- Complete District-wide research for the benefit of the Colleges/SCE such as the environmental scan, census data by service area, etc.
- Coordinate the preparation of the annual progress report, and IEPI reporting
